Noosa to Hervey Bay - 13th March

Feeling a little rough after the previous night drinking, we all got up and had breaky. Lee and Jess had the day to discover Noosa whereas we were back on the bus to get to Hervey Bay – 5 hours north. With our Fraser Island trip booked for tomorrow, we had a group meeting at 4pm to find out the plan and meet the others in the group.

The trip included a hostel stay for the night prior to Fraser Island, and another night in the hostel on our return. Not a great hostel as the rooms were hot and the kitchen had hardly any plates/cutlery at all – we regretted cooking pasta because it was more stress than it was worth, but hey ho!

So, in our meeting, we grouped together with 5 other people to share our 4WD vehicle with – 3 English, 1 Welsh and 1 Canadian. We went on a group shop together, buying food for lunches, snacks and a BBQ for 1 night and Pasta for the other night and of course... alcohol. We got on well with everyone straight away, which got us excited for the trip ahead of us!
ous. Al t e c ld beer was very welcome in the scorching heat!
Further down the road, Amanda got drawn in to a shop by a SALE sign...! However she did find a bargain dress in there which was very beautiful and made her very happy.

We headed back to the beach and walked along the sand in the edge of the sea for a while, soaking up some sun. There was a nice breeze to cool us down.  The sea was a strange colour in one area of the beach where it was a brown-yellow colour, but only in one patch of the water. We assume it must come from some clay component in the sand.

Before heading back to the hostel we laid on the grass near to where the surfing competition was being held and soaked up the atmosphere.
We walked part way back to the hostel to where the hostel bus collects from the Greyhound bus. Here we met up with Jess and Lee. It was nice to see some familiar faces again. We all bought some wine and beers and headed back to the hostel. It was great to sit and enjoy some drinks with some great company in the evening. The lucky devils had just stayed with family in Brisbane so had been packed off with a load of frozen meals to just microwave! We were so jealous! We consumed a little bit (too much) alcohol before heading to bed!
